CHAPTER 01. Before Joining AB, I was a CEO with 4 Employees.
Q. Please introduce yourself.
I'm Doohyun Cho, the CEO of BLAN. We provide B2B education and consulting services for writing business documents.
Q. Tell us about BLAN, and why you founded the company.
Blan is a company that educates entrepreneurs on how to create business documents such as business plans and investment proposals. The inspiration for starting Blan came from my own experience a few years ago when I was launching my first startup and found myself overwhelmed by the task of creating these essential documents. I realized that this process is particularly challenging for early-stage entrepreneurs like myself. That’s when I decided to start a company focused on teaching how to craft business documents, including company profiles, business plans, and investment proposals.
Q. Before joining Alpha Brothers, you mentioned that you were already running a company. What kind of work were you involved in as the CEO?
Before joining, I was a Master Level writer on Kmong, and having graduated with a degree in business administration, I always had the desire to start my own business. After launching my company, I ran it with a team of 4 employees.
Q. Could you share the story of how you decided to close your startup and then join Alpha Brothers?
I was working as a Prime-level expert on Kmong and decided that I needed the best consulting available to grow my business. I reached out to the business director at Kmong for consulting, and that’s when I was introduced to the CEO of Alpha Brothers. After meeting the CEO, I thought, "This is who I want to become. I want to run a business like this." At that time, I was operating my company in Daegu, so I made the decision to close down the business and move to Seoul with my brother and my girlfriend, who is now my wife.

CHAPTER 02. A New Start with AB's Internal Startup Program.
Q. Through Alpha Brothers' Internal Startup Program, you founded Blan and successfully spun it off. Could you explain why Alpha Brothers provides a great environment for taking on the challenge of starting a business?
Alpha Brothers has ABCDE Startup Support Groups, and I believe they offer an optimized program for creating internal startups. For example, they support everything from establishing a business entity, writing a business plan, designing and marketing that plan, to validating a prototype. In my case, when I planned the Blan business, I was able to start immediately thanks to Alpha Brothers' Internal Startup Program.
Q. What kind of support did you receive through the Internal Startup Program?
First, I received support in virtually every aspect needed for the business—not just financial support, but also assistance with personnel, design, marketing, and development.
Second, I benefited greatly from the consulting provided by the CEO of Alpha Brothers. To me, the CEO embodies acceleration itself. When I joined Alpha Brothers, the team was about 20 people, and I personally witnessed and indirectly experienced the company growing three to four times larger in just a few years. You can't underestimate the value of learning directly from a successful entrepreneur. Before joining Alpha Brothers, as the CEO of a small company with four employees, I was afraid to hire even one more person. But now, that fear is gone. The fact that Blan has grown to9 employees is a testament to how much I've developed.
In summary, Alpha Brothers' startup support program is incredibly well-structured, and the most attractive aspect is the CEO's expertise and consulting.
Q. Could you share any tips on how you were selected for the Internal Startup Program?
The tip I have for the Internal Startup Program is simple : Your determination to become an entrepreneur.
I wasn't fully prepared when I was selected and went through many trials and errors. Looking back at my previous business, I might not have been the ideal candidate for entrepreneurship, but I never gave up on the determination to become an entrepreneur. I kept asking the CEO, "What should I do to start a business?" and "How should I handle this issue when building a team?"
At first, I was just focused on the practical aspects, but once I started thinking like an entrepreneur, I realized, "This is how you manage employees," "This is how you handle sales," "This is how design should be done to better persuade customers," and "This is how marketing should be approached to make a stronger appeal." This broader perspective made me think that my actions might have appeared well-suited for the internal startup.
So, my tip? Actively express your desire to become an entrepreneur.
