Alpha Brothers and the 'Social Campus On' Project
Operated by the Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency, the 'Social Campus On' project supports the growth of social enterprises through 19 centers across the country. In 2023, Alpha Brothers took on the management of two centers in Seoul, focusing on addressing various challenges faced by social enterprises. Let’s explore the different issues these enterprises encounter.
What is 'Social Campus On'? 💡
'Social Campus On' is a program designed to support the stable growth of early-stage startups. It provides resources such as office space, training, and mentoring to help foster high-quality social entrepreneurs and assist both aspiring and established social enterprises in entering the market.

CHAPTER 01.
The Goal: Scaling Up Social Enterprises!
Two years ago, Alpha Brothers had the opportunity to assess the financial status of social enterprises. The data revealed that over 50% of these companies were earning insufficient revenue to cover even one salary, and this trend was increasing annually.
While social enterprises receive various forms of support, many lack the essential business skills needed to build a strong foundation, such as customer analysis and business plan development. Additionally, social enterprises face the challenge of balancing profitability with public welfare in a market where even profit-driven businesses struggle to survive.
To address these issues, Alpha Brothers launched the 'Social Campus On' program in 2018. Leveraging the experience and data accumulated over the years, this initiative provides diverse support to help social enterprises scale up effectively.

The 2 Program Concepts of 'Social Campus On'
🏁 Setting the Foundation for Strong Enterprises!
1-1. Secure Funding
One of the biggest challenges faced by social enterprises is securing funds. With low revenue, it becomes difficult to hire necessary staff, creating a vicious cycle. To break this cycle, Alpha Brothers has made extensive efforts in supporting these enterprises. Through government policy funds, R&D support programs, and other initiatives, up to 560 million KRW has been secured. This is more than just a number; it represents a solid foundation that helps social enterprises take significant steps forward.
1-2. Scale-Up Training Programs and Mentoring
How to grow effectively is crucial for any enterprise. To address this, Alpha Brothers has organized a series of Wednesday lectures, totaling 26 sessions. These programs cover essential areas such as funding, marketing, market validation, investor relations, design, and photography, providing comprehensive education for entrepreneurs.
To complement the training, Alpha Brothers also arranged for mentors across all relevant fields. Mentors are available upon request, and Alpha Brothers offers unlimited consultations. Over the course of a year, both general and expert mentoring are provided, ensuring a structured curriculum and ongoing support.
🤗 Strengthening the Role and Public Value of Social Enterprises!
2-1. Social Enterprise Certification
Certification is crucial for the growth of social enterprises. Alpha Brothers supports this by offering free consulting worth 10 million KRW for patent applications and market feasibility verification. Continuous mentoring and lectures are provided year-round to assist with certification, SVI measurement, and expanding market access through public institutions.
2-2. Market Expansion Support
No matter how excellent a product or service is, it is meaningless if it doesn’t reach consumers. Alpha Brothers collaborates with organizations like UNICEF Korea Committee, the International Santa Claus Association, and Social Campus Seoul 2 Center to plan and run the 'UNICEF Story From' campaign. Through this initiative, social enterprises have been connected with partners like actor Ahn Seong-ki and the Samsung professional baseball team to produce and manage merchandise.
Currently, 'Story From' helps social enterprises engage sports and cultural influencers to sell merchandise. The program is designed to handle product planning, production, and marketing, aiming to generate about 10% in sales profit.
