CHAPTER 01.
What is the "Internal Startup Program"?
When Alpha Brothers invests in external companies, we assess whether the company has an independent business model (BM) and whether it generates revenue with that BM. However, when internal employees wish to start their own businesses, they often do not have a developed BM yet. Even if they have not yet established a concrete BM, if they have an idea leveraging their area of expertise, Alpha Brothers fully supports their entrepreneurial ambitions through our internal venture program.
Aspiring entrepreneurs work on developing their BM while continuing their primary roles and learn how to run a business through weekly meetings with the CEO, aiming to become an *Independent Label.
* Independent Label : Companies that have successfully become self-sufficient with support from Alpha Brothers.
โฐProgram Schedule
The program is ongoing! You can bring your ideas to the CEO at any time.
CHAPTER 02.
Process from Selection to Launch
Stage 1 | Exploration Period
This is the phase for developing and validating your idea. During the exploration period, Alpha Brothers provides support in terms of both funding and talent.
First, funding covers the costs associated with exploring and validating the idea. For instance, this could include marketing expenses to verify the market fit (PMF) of your idea. Running ads is a straightforward way to gauge the market's response to your product.
Second, talent refers to the manpower needed to effectively implement the idea. For example, if you're building a website or app, the Brand Department can assist. During MVP testing, the Data Development Department offers support. Additionally, if you need business-related assistance, you can turn to the Expert Department. A common example, though seemingly simple, is the often complicated process of opening a corporate bank account.
I had to visit the bank a whopping seven times just to open a corporate account. It seemed like a hassle to ask for help from the Expert Group , so I tried to handle it on my own. When I finally mentioned this to the Expert Group , they just laughed and said, ‘You could have just asked.’ Since then, I’ve seen that founders can quickly resolve these issues with the help of the Expert Group.
- Yonnie Cho, CEO of Sunday Worker
It’s challenging to manage both fundraising and operations alone. That’s why Alpha Brothers runs an internal venture program, providing strong support so that internal founders can focus on exploring, developing, and validating their ideas
Stage 2 | Independence Period
During the independence phase, if a venture can generate a monthly revenue of over 50 million won for 6 consecutive months through its own efforts—without further support from Alpha Brothers—it will be spun off as an independent label.
Now, let's hear the stories of three individuals who successfully founded their companies through the internal venture program.

Why Alpha Brothers is Ideal for Starting a Business
Alpha Brothers has five departments dedicated to startup support: A, B, C, D, and E. This setup makes it an optimal environment for creating internal ventures. For example, everything from establishing a business, drafting a business plan, designing and marketing the plan, to validating the prototype can be supported by Alpha Brothers. When I was planning my business, Blan, the internal startup program at Alpha Brothers allowed me to start my venture immediately.

2 Pivots! The Relentless Spirit of Sunday Worker
Yonkyong Cho, CEO of Sunday Worker
I Couldn't Have Done It Alone.
If I had been on my own, I probably wouldn't have ventured into entrepreneurship. It was the encouragement and a bit of a push from those around me that made it possible. Additionally, there were so many aspects to manage. There were areas I knew little about, and although I might have tried to figure things out through numerous attempts and revisions, I wasn't someone with a lot of seed money. If I had started the business alone, I might have failed early on or settled for a smaller-scale operation. I think I would have pursued a low-risk, return-based business model. However, at Alpha Brothers, I was able to learn a lot about dreaming big and how to achieve those dreams.
